You don't say what phone you have so I guess I will take a whack at it. I would say maybe. I think it depends on the phone. But there are some great ROMs and instructions at PPCGeeks I have the HTC Touch Pro and have updated my ROM from 6.1 to 6.5. And I have changed to different "flavors" maybe about 20 times till I found the one I like. And who knows? I might change again when I get bored and have nothing better to do.

Oditius - How do you like your Touch Pro 2? I am seriously thinking about that device - my only hangup is of course price from t-mobile but also Windows Mobile - I have an HTC Shadow with Windows Mobile and it's terribly slow to turn on/boot up.

The slow boot up times is a general character of all smartphones.. Palm Pre, iPhone, WM, Android included~

here, good luck read, read, read or you will end up with a brick

Magician upgrading etc. - xda-developers

nate
btw windows mobile 7 is pretty far in the future and will require a snapdragon processor so I doubt anyone here will be upgrading to it. Especially since there are only devices currently availble with the snapdragon and just released this month.
