iGolf looking for Beta Testers

I found this on MobileMinds and it was posted by iGolf. Looks like a good way for me to get that GPS unit I've been talking about ($110 ) as well as software for my golf game.
Attention Golfers that have PPC's with the CF slot:
I am looking for 4 beta testers to help test our golf gps application, iGolfgps. This application connects a PPC to a GPS receiver and allows golfers the ability to determine the distance to the green!
We have 4 CF GPS receivers that we will sell wholesale ($110) to any interested person that has a CF slot on their PPC. These are yours to keep and we will send you iGolfgps (Beta Version). Once the application is fully stable we will give you a free copy (MSRP $34.95).
We want to find any bugs that the application may have. This CF unit is made in Japan and is highly accurate. Please understand we are not making any money on the CF receivers, but we are distributing them in return for feedback on our golf application.
Please contact me ASAP if you are interested or with any questions.
-Dave

I contacted them to let them know that I am interested in helping them Beta Test their application. Hey....$110 for a GPS unit....I think that's a pretty good deal....and a free version of the iGolf software when it's stable......a BONUS!

bk - how are you going to golf in Philadelphia... isn't there still snow on the ground?!? <ducking>
Sounds like a good deal - let me know how it works... I might be in the market for something like that soon. (I don't have a CF slot otherwise I'd be contacting them about the beta myself!)

I think they would need to send me another person who can actually hit the ball straight ....to improve MY golf game...The GPS will only tell me the distance straight to the pin....I don't think it will matter much if I'm playing in zig zag lines down the fairway!
But, I'm psyched about getting a GPS unit for only $100.00... Yay!!!!

I can not seem to break 87 consistantly so I am sure we have much better golfers here. I need to go out and play more then a few times a year and it may help, last time I played it was PGA West and it ate me alive at 91.... embaressed to admit that.
I have been a few courses with GPS on the cart it is fun to use.

Truth be told - winter in Florida isn't much different than winter up north (I'm originally from Minnesota). In Florida, the courses are SOOO busy in the winter and are SOOO expensive, it's almost like I was back in Minnesota (only playing golf April through October).
91 at PGA West isn't anything to feel embarassed about. I always feel a bad day of golf is better than a good day of work.

I just played Sunday for the first time in over a month. Shot an 84. Since I'm a 16 handicap, I was VERY happy with the round.

I always find that the first time out...I sorta shoot pretty good....because I haven't developed my bad habits yet for the season...It's the second time out that my hook and slice start showing up...
I would say my golf game is "Radioactive". Radioactive because it has a half life and the rate of degradation increases with the number of times I play to the point, that by September I'm pretty much ready to put the clubs away.

I just played today at Pelican Bay overlooking the beach in South Laguna, what an awesome course .... broke 40 on the front, which I was elated since I had not played in over nine months.... 42 on the back, but the view was awesome.

I should be so lucky....I usually play "schizophrenic"...in other words I shoot around 45 on the front and then the "other" player comes out and shoots in the mid to high 50s on the back. :? I wonder how I would play if I took lithium before a game?
