Ok, so I've got the 8125 with Cingular and I think it would be sweet if I could get a GPS program. Something like the Boost moblie GPS would be cool. Any help on finding one?
I use Cingular and an 8525. I am in real estate and I have been using their Telenav Service and it has worked great. Only problem you will find is that you can't get data online and talk on the phone at the same time unless your using 8525. (At least that is what they tell me anyway). Hope this helps!
Are there any other phones with a one time fee for the gps? I dont want to pay 120 a year for this.
let me know if you have found what you are looking for. I am looking for the same.
I was told when using a Cingular HTC 8525, you will still need a GPS receiver device for your phone to be installed in your car. The device runs between $200 to $275. and when married to your HTC, you will be able to have GPS navigation through your HTC without a monthly charge.
The teleNav software that is installed on your HTC is just a third party program that requires subscription, but you then would not need a second GPS receiver for the car if you subscribe and is limited to the area ( state )
you are in.
I dont know about this.. if you have to pay for it after you download it, or if its free forever? I dont even know if it navigates.. its probably jsut a map :P I emailed the guy and asked him if you have to pay for it after you download it (monthly?) but he hasn't mailed me back.
I'm on my phone now .
That map is free to use (that guy emailed me back) but you have to have something called "EagleEye Navigator" go to the link in my last post and at the same site look under GPS for the EagleEye. I think it will run you about 150$ But its forever! (as long as you have the phone :P)
I used the site below to purchase a 32 channels solar powered bluetooth GPS receiver. The software is Street Atlas 2007Plus. The same on I use on my Desktop, laptop, and now on the Cingular 8125. Result: Awesome
Well, even if it does cost a little bit more, I would rather purchase something that doesn't require some extra accesories. I would rather buy a program that I can install onto my phone and just use it straight from there...
