Hello all!
My name is Adam and I recently (2 days ago) bought an 8125. This is my first POCKETPC and I'm still trying to get used to it. I'm a college student, so I would like to use it for work and play. I tried hooking up the device to my PC last night to transfer some MP3's so I could listen to them while my drab professor lecture on and on, but noticed that the file sized changed from around 3K KB to about 6.5MB!! I have the device stock as it is, so I really don't have that much hard drive space. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm sure I'll have more questions as I delve deeper and deeper into the features of this device.
Thanks,
Adam
That's weird that it would change to 6.5MB... maybe it somehow converted to .wav file. Not sure why that happened. But if you want music for listening I suggest getting a separate memory card which will definitely help ease the memory on the actual device.
Yep you need a card bro but if you can't get one now you can stream it to your ppc from your pc with ORB download it to your pc and then go to MY.ORB.com from your device. In orb setings on your pc you need to tell it where your music and videos are. ITS FREE
Thank you very much you guys! I'm going to try out the orb thing for now until I have a chance to go out and get a card. It's hard to get out of study-mode when it's exam time! Thanks again!

Alrighty... So I decided to buy the 1GB memory card for this thing, but I'm still having trouble transferring my MP3's!! Each MP3 is taking upwards of 30 minutes to transfer from my laptop to my PPC via Windows Media Player. Called Cingular's tech support and they were no help at all. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
P.S The ORB option is good as long as you have wifi, without it, it is quite useless.... but thanks!
yeah that way is slow. you need to open the containing folder and explore the card with activesync or if your laptop has a card reader that's better then cut n paste or drag and click
you can also download freeware called WM5torage it makes you phone a card reader when activated
when your done tell mediaplayer to update the library
That way works faster, but then you don't have any playlists. Thats my experience anyway. Is there a way to create playlists in WMP mobile or transfer them separately from activesync? I looked all over the device and couldn't find them anywhere...
I got an O2 XDAII and just sync the files using windows media player on my desktop. Its pretty quick and well simple to use as long as the files sre on the computer already.
