I am trying to connect 8125 with 1.8.11.1 WWE to PC using USB. I tried Activesync 4.0, 4.2, and 4.5 beta. With all of ActiveSync versions, it continues to attempt a connection but eventually times out. I have McAfee and have made sure that it matches the setting on Microsoft troubleshooting page related to personal firewall.
I finally got this worked out. The problem had to do with 1.8.11 firmware.
To get this to work, I first sync'd using IR to make sure I had connectivity from laptop to 8125. Then tried to flash 2.25.11.1.
First time I tried it did not work as expected. The second time around, I had USB cable connected while trying to upgrade ROM. This time it worked. As soon as upgrade was complete, I was able to use USB to conenct to multiple PCs without any problem.
I am having a similar problem syncing to my pc. I know very little about getting technical with computers so make this as dumbed down as possible. my 8125 can sync with my gf's pc but not mine or any other I have tried. it dosn t seem to like ny version of outlook so I uninstalled it and installed the version on the activesync program I got with the phone. I've installed and uninstalled everything several times. what else can I do? thanks

Which firmware do you have on phone? Also, do you have any personal firewall on the PC you 're having problem with?
i dont know what firmware is on the phone. like i said im not to good with computers. this is my first pocketpc and ive only had it for a few days. i have new dell desktop and its running all the trial software for the first 60 days or whatever so mabey that is blocking somthing.
to VREcoBox: buy your gf's computer from her. Anyway not knowing what you have on your computer to disable. what are your messages from the activsnyc. it could be all that stuff like antivirus and firewall try disableing it to install software.
