I am using Cingular 8125, MS Windows Mobile 5. It seems that I can't install anything if the file extention is not CAB. The instructions from MS says that it installs only CAB files, never mentions about other files. Could some one please confirm this? Or is there any way to do the installations of those files?
You will find that most installation files in .exe format are desktop executables to install apps over an ActiveSync connection. If an .exe is written to execute under WM, that will typically be stated clearly. If you have an archive-management app on your device, you can frequently extract the appropriate .cab file from an install distributed as a .zip archive to run installation directly on your device.
in other words, try running those exe files when u have your 8125 connected to your pc. You should notice additional installation instructions on your phone after running the exe files from the pc.
