I have an 8125 from cingular and I love it. I'm thinking of upgrading to the unlimited data plan, I have been using wifi from my school, but I live in the country and there isn't a wifi spot available around here. I want to get more usage and portability from my phone. Do you find it worth the extra money for the plan?
it is steep if you go with the 39.99 plan... but i utilize my data plan daily, 2 hours in the AM and 2 hours in the PM. not to mention times inbetween and while i am at work.
if you are a commuter or someone who could utilize the net with work, go for it.
also, you live in the country... are you definitely sure your in an Edge network? GPSR sucks... Edge isn't speedy, but it makes it do-able.
technically the 20 dollar plan isn't the correct plan. cingular is cracking down on giving it away to 8125 users as well as the cingular stores.
if you can get that plan on your account, the more power to you... but when i got my cingular 8125, they wouldnt give me the 20 dollar plan and stated i needed the PDA plan to get the 150 discount.
I had to order my phone online due to work, so the only option I had for the discounts was the PDA data plan. I love it though; I have Agile Messenger installed so that I'm on IM 24/7. (Nothing better during those 3 hour car rides sitting in the back seat than chatting with friends.) I've used it several times when I've gotten lost to look up directions on Google. I "pull" my email without burning through text messages to "push" them; I even removed the Xpress Mail program since I didn't need it.
The price is steep, but if you think you'll use it and can afford it, I'd definitely say it's worth it.
