Exclamation During Upgrading... there was an interruption

Hi...
I got my HP hx4700, with Microsoft Windows mobile 5.0,
I was trying to upgrade it with the new software released by hp.
While there was upgrading, a sudden USB interrption happened that made my PPC on the halfway, I can't synchronize it again and reinstall the ROM files, nor operating it with the old files of ROM.
What shoudl I do is there anyway to charge the ROM software without synchronizing?
I will really appreciate any help.

Hi.. I have just got the hp logo on my screen with a word of "serial" and "USB" if I connect it to the PC.
What was the reason behind that?
Thanks for your support.

Sorry to hear about what happen to your upgrade.
Your pocket pc now is now in Bootloader mode. While in that state why not try the upgrade again.
Are you using a usb cable directly connected to your pc or is it connected to a USB Hub?

I tried to reupgrate at that time with no success, I tried to soft and hard reset it and go back to the upgrading but no benefit.
I was connecting it through a direct USB, I didn't use a hub.

I found this great fix on Resco.net after doing some research. Please let me know if it works for you!

Thanks a lot Tim.
I am really appericiating your kind support.
I actually took the device yesterday to the hp center (just before finding your reply) and asked them to fix it for me (as long as it is under warranty).
The technician told me that it is a ROM problem and they should change the mainboard!!!!!!
Anyway, in that case I am worried baout two things:
- I am afraid that if they will do that it will affect the future performance of the device (they may treat the screen badly during the repair).
- Second thing is that I changed my operating system from 2003SE to 5.0, the seller did that for me for a sum of money, So they may give me the device with 2003SE again.
I am really unlucky with my new device, I think that I will be in a real need to know a lot of things and to learn how to fix everything by myself in the future.
I promise to be an active member of this forum and will try to exchange all the informations with everybody out here.
Thanks again for your help TIM.!!!!

Hi...
I got my PDA today, I swear that they have changed the mother board???!!!
My God, According to what Tim sent me before of the links about correcting that error... it is supposed to be reloaded with the Windows Mobile, but they didn't do that: they changed the board.
Anyway, now I got it the 2003 back on it. Actually I have phobia ow from upgrading it again or even downloading anything on it. I think it is a matter of time.
Finally, I have to thank Tim a lot for his support, THANK YOU TIM.

You're very welcome alphahmed! I'd probably stick with Windows Mobile 2003SE on your hx4700 as it is what it usually comes with standard and is more stable. Let us know if you need anything else!
