Birdsoft Project-ing - Project Managment Released

Birdsoft is proud to announce the release of its new program "Project-ing". It is a basic project management solution for Windows Mobile Pocket PC.

It allows you to organize your Outlook data using projects and sub-projects, along with including files, programs and hyperlinks. One simple tree view (with a lot of work to make the GUI work so seamlessly) and our project planning is so much more organized....
We wont explain to you exactly how it works here(it is explained in the help file, and is SO SIMPLE), but it was designed to run right along with your current PIM application, and actually can make that more powerful as well.....
Why?
We were utilizing our ListWatch Program to run all of our day to day activities, tasks, and projects, which worked GREAT, but..... We wanted more... And we had this idea and ran with it....
And yes we have TONS of ideas for expanding it even further, and want to hear yours too, as we hope this will become a user driven product as far as further development....
Side Note
Its funny we were actually using the product to organize what was left to be done on the product... NOT KIDDING!! The bugs and feature fixes for version 1.0 were in a project in our test beta of Project-ing as we went along...It works that effectively..!
So try it out....

Thanks

Love the theory.

Wow, you must have a ton of PIM entries too... Ill be writing a quick load for WM5 like the one earlier Pocket PCs use, that will cut that down significantly( like to a few seconds I hope).. Ulti-Planner needs it too for the WM05 update thats coming, so....
I was sure I heard at some point that the reason they switched the Database stuff behind POOM(Microsoft's developer API for Pocket Outlook), was so it would actually run at a usable speed now.... Guess not....

Wow, yeah thats a lot... It only loads the current month, but 2500 contacts alone would slow it down... Curious, do you use a 3rd party PIM with that?
You must have to be one of the few pushing the limits of all this stuff....
Of course the two big PIMs got a jump on us for custom DB loading of
Pocket Outlook stuff... But Im not always sure how efficient either of them are in their code....They're both pretty good, but it sometimes takes them a while to get there.

Pocket Informant - I would like a real simple one - built in is not sufficient. I liked the look of Pen & Inc but they can not release new versions are virtually out of business.

Once we get Ulti-Planner WM05 ready, I would suggest trying that(it even can look like Pen&Inc), but until then....
I released a new version of Project-ing (version 1.04) which attempts to optimize loading substantially, along with adding a 3rd level of sub-rpojects, Task Progress bars, sort by category, and some other changes..... Feel
free to check it out
http://www.birdsoft.biz/project.htm
(sort by company/Category seem to be the biggest performance hit areas)
