One of the things I am most excited about is,
Controlling my Home Entertainment System with my Toshiba e800 PPC.
What are the best programs out there for doing so?
thanks alot
I'm looking forward to being able to control the PC i've recently set up as a home entertainment system. I can even play dvd's, vcd's, cd's and MP3's and they come up on my wide screen tv and surround sound system. (dunno why I wanted to do that, but I did :? )
I've just gotta install wifi and then I should hopefully be able to control the whole system via my PPC .
Jeez the things you can do with technology, determination and a half baked idea .

To err is human, but to really foul things up you need a computer.

So you built an HTPC!?
I built one just recently for my two channel rig, and I am extremely impressed with its capability. I have no doubt that it's up there with the best I have ever heard in digital playback.
A friend of mine is starting on his HTPC, and I'll be helping him out. I really didn't know there was 802.11 software to control them specifically, but I can tell you that I have used Terminal Services for WM2003 to control my 2 channel rig. It works well, BUT the problem is you can't tell it to leave sounds on the remote machine, like in RDP. So it wants to reroute from my $1,200 soundcard, to the Axim.
VNC for WM2003 is so unstable, I stopped using it. So I am stuck with using a laptop for control. For now. . .
Let me know if you find anything, please!
