Griff Pocket Music Studio (Affiliate) is being promoted as a Multi-track Pocket Music studio with a sequencer, sampler, mixer and effects. What this means is you could take your instrument, record a track, go back and record yourself singing, and before you know it, you sound like you have your own band! Well, that's what Prince and Sting do anyway.... "Griff Pocket Music Studio™ is a cool tool for anyone interested in creating music. Designed by musicians for musicians, Griff takes portable sequencing to new places…literally. And when you get to the studio, simply export your track as Midi or a .WAV to your desktop for fine tuning. Here is why Griff has a cult following and is used in over 35 countries worldwide:
Griff outputs at 44100hz 16bit (CD Quality). Internally Griff makes uses of a 24bit signal path to maintain maximum headroom. Buffer sizes are fully adjustable to suit the hardware and minimize latency.
* The sequencer is driven at 480ppqn for Rock Solid timing accuracy. All Instrument, Effect and Mixer controls can be fully automated. The sequencer is pattern based enabling fast song creation and excellent real-time re-mixing capabilities. Tempo and time signature are both fully adjustable.
* The Sampler uses *WAV files under PCM Compression up to 16 BIT, 44.1KHz. Features include Keyboard mapping, sample preview, Pitch edit, loop point, start and end point edit, decay, release, pan and volume control.
* As well as The Sampler, Griff contains mSyn, a built in fantastically versatile monophonic synthesiser. Griff includes built in effects including Reverb, Delay, Distortion, Chorus and Flanger. The only thing that might hinder it is the price $73.00 is sort of steep for Pocket PC software. But to purchase a standalone mixer it typically runs around $300 to start.
