Greetings. I'm new to the forum but trying to find an answer to an odd problem. I'm sorry if this is a little incoherant, I'm really tired right now and it's an odd problem that I have a hard time explaining what's happening.
Ever since February my task manager on my ipaq 3900 (I believe that's the right number, the first with the 400 mghz processor) cannot get my dates right. Well only for certain things. For tasks that happen once, every day, or one day per week, it seems fine. It only seems to have issues with re-occuring tasks that last more than a day.
Nothing else seems affected. The Calender works fine as far as I can tell (I don't use it as much though so maybe I just haven't run across it doing wierd things).
But for tasks I want to last three days that re-occur, it cannot seem to figure out when I say that I want it to start every Monday and end Thursday, I want it to start every Monday and end Thursday. It tends to think I want it to start every Friday and end every Saturday. For ones I want to do once a month, it skips whole months. I wonder if it has something to do with Leap Year, but I think it started a little before leap year would have affected it yet (beginning to middle of February vs. the end).
I haven't been able to really ascertain any sort of pattern as to how it decides when the task should start except I know if I want it on monday and it is weekly, it should go on thursday that week instead(for example, I want March 15th, I should set the task March 18th). I also need to ignore it saying every thursday, it will reset it to every monday if I do this. Yet if I set it on the right date, it puts the date four days later (so if I put it on the date I want, March 15th, it puts the date on March 19th). And will keep re-occuring on Thursdays instead of Mondays. So it's not like it's four days ahead or behind of what I want... but it does seem four days in some direction, either ahead or behind. Monthly seems to work differently (I haven't gotten a clue yet, only have one task so far I've had to deal with).
I even tried installing another task manager (Pocket Informant) besides the basic (I have yet to find one that says it will do that I find lacking in the basic program... I hate the set amount of snooze times. I wish it would let me say snooze x hours rather than the set list. Or at least have an option for four hours later rather than 2 or 8 hours later). It still has the same problem (and was more annoying to read) so I think it's with the programing itself in the computer. Though I could see that maybe the problem is in the original task manager cause Pocket Informant seemed to me to use the basics of the original task manager and add on features rather than install an entirely new program (a lot of the settings you could set for the features were the same, some of the interface even).
Anyone else run across this problem and is there any way to fix it besides telling it to start on the thursday of the week I want the task to start on (it seems to put it on Mondays then)? I'm getting super annoyed at it as the task manager is one of the main things I use it for and already I missed a task because it decided the task started four days later than when I set the task to happen!!!!
