FreeWare Divx Encoder for Pocket PC

Quite a few of us around here are fans of watching movies on "The Small Screen". Yes, for some of us, there is nothing better than encoding a video to Pocket PC for watching on the plane, on the train or in the board meeting. Today, Pocket PC Thoughts got word of a new Freeware Divx encoder called PocketDivxEncoder which encodes your MPGs or Full screen AVIs and puts them into .AVI or .Ogg format so you can view them on your Pocket PC using Pocket MVP
Note: If you are going to get this, we recommend you get it quick. It is conceivable this site will be shut down soon by the MPAA.

I would clarify movies with "Home movies" :P .....we wouldn't dare think of illegally encoding copyrighted DVDs... and you spelled "Board Meeting" wrong.....I think it should be "BORED Meeting"

I'll clarify even further. It does't Rip DVDs so it would be perhaps a home movie that you'd encode.

Frank,
Have you used this yet? I may have been mistaken...he's talking about encoding .VOBs on the thread. Which would be DVD encoding.

Yes, I have played a little bit with it and I like it. It´s much easier than virtualdup of course it´s less powerful too

Less powerful how? Does it take longer to encode your vids?

No, it's a little faster but virtualdup has more features including encoding in two pass that will give you a better quality. But in another hand it's harder to understand for a normal user.
