Advango = Advantheadache

I've got an Ipaq 3970 running pocketpc 2002 v 2.10. (I'm not boasting! I have a question )
Lately when I soft reset the device I goes nuts and demands to be connected to the Internet (via my mobile BT connection, coz thats what my device connection is set to).
I also have Advantgo installed (I'm a sucker or reading up on 'Wired Gadgets' 8) and 'Space.com' ) I believe that this may be the root cause, as in soft reset -> Advantgo demands to download the lastest news items .
So far I've been OK 'coz when I've performed a soft reset I've been at home and just re-established an Activestink connection and an Internet connection via my PC.
However if I'm out and about and had to perform a softreset then I'd be taking a direct route to the nearest creak and be dropping my paddle along the way!
Can anyone advise me on how I can circumvent Advantgo from demanding a connection if/when I'm out and about (other than going on the net via me mobile and BT )?
Ta for any advise or help offered.

Actually Addic, you may be having more than one issue causing this connection behavior - I am not sure it's actually Avantgo that is the problem.
From memory, since I don't have a 2002 device handy, open Activesync and choose tools, options.
Somewhere in the "remote" server or connection area, you probably have it set to automatically connect. If you uncheck that, you should stop getting the autoconnect prompts.

Hmmmmm!
I do have Activestink set to :
Continuously while the device is connnectd.
Synchronise automatically whenever the information changes on either the mobile device or desktop computer!!!!!
Hmmmmm! (some more)
I could really do with having some time to backing up my work databases
before syncing (I keep forgetting! damn my short MTV generation attention span )
So I think I'll give the bottom option a try:
Manually
Only synchronise information in response to clicking the Sync buttons on the toolbar, or clicking Synchronise on the File menu.
This is because I have a couple of databases installed (with Sprintdbpro 2 - front end, working great for me, so far )
I've lost data before when syncing with prevous apps e.g. Visual CE - Personal edition (kept loosing the Syncronisation/relationship links and was really a pain to re-set up and was even worse to edit the database (whinge).
I also tried Pocketpc Creations DSE app which once I finally got all the app fields and my access database fields all mapped up, just wiped all my data while syncing (well it was accidentally interrupted).
Thanks for the help and advice though Brad, I think you may have just helped me solve two of my main device concerns.

Derrrr!
Yep your right, when I soft reset the same old problem came back.
OK! In Activestink/Tools/Options/Schedule, I've unchecked the following:
"When synchronsing remotely with my PC, disconnect when complete".
I don't have anything ticked on that page now! is that good or bad? Jeez how dense am I!
