Ahhhh...It's March Madness time again! One of my favorite times of the year! And this year we have a little bit at stake in the family! My wife, brother and uncles all attended St Joes! Which is one of only two undefeated teams in the country.
My wife informed me that she went over to the campus today and picked me up some St Joes Hawks t-shirts and shorts... WooHoo! The Hawk will Never Die! (I'm a LaSalle graduate myself...but...I'm rooting for the Hawks and Phil Martelli!)

Errrr!
So what is that in reference to Basketball, Baseball, American football?
Us limeys are nuts about football and Rugby :P , but you yanks are CRAZY! about your weird ball chasing national past times (Not nearly as weird as the aussies though with their Ozzie rules game), which is rich, I know coming from a nation that fervently watches tennis and cricket amongst other sports that we are consistant at (consistantly losing that is ).
I understand your Tv sports shows have adverts every five-ten minutes and breast thrusting concerts at half time (Go Janet, go!) does that happen for basket ball and baseball too? :P
Jeez! I hate sport.
To be fair though the american studios do produce good cop shows! I wet my pants through (laughing) when watching the Starsky and Hutch movie 8)

Don't tell me anymore about the Starsky and Hutch movie...I haven't seen it yet and I'm dying to see it...I laugh so hard every time I see the commercials.

March Madness is the College Basketball tournament that's held each March and runs for (I think 4 weeks). The field starts out with 128 college basketball team and once the college team loses they are eliminated from the tournament.
So, there are 64 games in the first weekend and it gets down to the "Sweet 16" then to the "Elite 8" then to the "Final Four" and eventually the "National Champion" But the thing that makes it so exciting is that alot of really small colleges make it into the tournament and they could be the "Cinderella Story" and knock off the "Goliath".. Very fun to watch! (If you like sports)

Sports has become very commercial...that's why these athletes are making some ungodly salaries these days.

I gotta say, even though I'm not keen on sports (tends to get in the way of me games playing and beer swigging ) you make the March Madness thingie sound really fun an interesting.
I'd even go so far to ave go at watching it but I guess it isan't televised in the UK.
I also really like the idea that it only last for four weeks (approx). My attention span isan't what...................................

Wow! you are a gaming "Addic" If I ever saw one. I play alot of Age of Mythology.
Say, I got Unreal Tournament 2003 as a gift but never messed with it. You said you "completed" it. does that mean there is a storyline? I thought it was all online shooting?
In other words, please do...convince me I need to load it and play it
No way!
Unreal tournament 2003 is a team based game, sure, but you can select your team from some AI controlled bots. Each character has their own strength and weaknesses e.g. poor team work, high aggression etc. So there's no reason it can't be played as a single player game.
Once your team is compiled you progress on to play in various rungs of a ladder (e.g. Team death match (6 levels), Capture the flag (6 levels), Domination (5 levels), Bombing Run (Kinda like American Football, but with rocket launchers and sniper rifles (Five levels) against some computer controlled teams the aim being to progress on to the final tournament.
That's not to mention the 'Instant Action" games, which consists of 15 different deathmatch levels.
Each of the different levels (I feel) consists of different elements or skills sets e.g. sniping, stratedgy, teamwork, aggression etc
Throughout the game you have the option to purchase new team mates to refresh your team.
Unreal tournament 2003 is a very fast and furious game, with most levels not leaving alot of room to think or plan, but certainly lots of running, jumping, swimming etc and of course death, destruction and carnage (can you really say you dies if you continue to respawn???)
Unreal Tournament I guess really comes in to it's on the internet or network gaming, but that defines the boundary of my experience as I haven't set that up yet for any of my games. I play ALOT already, doing the net thing might be pushing it too far, I'm kinda looking in to the abyss as it is.
But what the hell, It's probably something I'll setup shortly, I just need a bit more time!
I will say though that the Tournament series far surpasses the Unreal 1/2 games.
I can't wait for Unreal Tournament 2004, which should be due out in a couple of weeks. Imagine a team based Halo
