(Version 1.3 updated) MyVGA released for Toshiba e80x

With the looks of the new VGA screen for the Toshiba, I believe alot more of these applications will start coming out to take advantage of the extra screen space.
PocketPCTools has released a freeware application that can switch the Toshiba between QVGA and VGA.
The Toshiba e800/e805 is the first Pocket PC that supports video-modes other than standard 240x320 portrait: 480x640 portrait and landscape. Unfortunately Toshiba allows running only three preinstalled programs in these resolutions.
MyVGA fixes this problem and can switch the Toshiba between QVGA and VGA modes, portrait or landscape, and unlock the system allowing the execution of other programs. MyVGA also addresses the following well-known problem with hi-resolution. While standard fonts are too small for hi-res it is preferred to adjust them (system-wide with special tools or direct in each program, which has such options). But after switch in standard low-res mode all fonts will appear too big. MyVGA helps to fix the problem by storing settings of other programs for each video-mode independently and restoring appropriate settings while switching resolution.
MyVGA can be used solely with Toshiba e800/e805 Pocket PCs. It is not compatible with any other devices.

Project Closed

Due to a dispute with the author of ResFix, the freeware program for the Toshiba e805 MyVGA is no longer available and the links to the author''s website now state simply that the project is closed.

MyVGA version 1.1.0 is available!

The development team of MyVGA is happy to release version 1.1.0 of the program. A lot of work went into this release and we believe it’s a solid foundation for all future work on the program.
New Features in version 1.1:
File-swapping. When changing video-mode, MyVGA can replace particular files with a version specially designed for the selected video-mode. So you can use large icons in Pocket Informant for example when in VGA mode, and automatically use smaller icons when you switch to QVGA.
Reverse landscape mode putting the buttons on the left when in landscape. This mode is still in testing but is probably 95% complete. There is a slight flicker on some devices in this mode but it is still very useful, especially for using IR keyboards in landscape, so we left this mode in the release.
Timing settings. The user has the ability to manually change the screen timing settings to fine-tune reverse landscape mode. This is for experienced users only and you change the settings at your own risk.
Features in version 1.1:
Switch Toshiba e800/e805 Pocket PC to any of the following resolutions:
240x320 - Portrait, standard resolution and upside down
320x240 - Landscape, left- or right-handed
480x640 - Portrait, normal or upside
640x480 - Landscape, left- or right-handed;
Change Fonts used for menus, and set the sizes of scrollbars. Settings are stored independently for each video mode;
Store/restore the registry-settings when changing video mode. This allows the user to readjust other programs to selected resolution (application must have the ability to change its settings). You only have to specify which registry entries must be stored. You do not specify real values, only their names. Once the registry key names are entered that setting can be adjusted directly in your application. You can change settings (e.g. FontSize in Reader-program) any time without the need to adjust the settings of MyVGA. MyVGA tracks changing of registry entries and stores/restores current settings automatically and for each video mode individually.
File-swapping. When changing video-mode, MyVGA can replace particular files with a version specially designed for the selected video-mode. So you can use large icons in Pocket Informant when in VGA mode, and automatically use smaller icons when you switch to QVGA.
Small and fast. MyVGA is written using C++, it does not require Visual-Basic- or any other runtimes to be installed on the Pocket PC. Its size is about 100Kb and it starts quickly.
Command line support. MyVGA detects several command line parameters and can switch video mode without using the GUI window. This is useful if you want to switch modes from your favorite launcher.
Does not require setup. The program consists of only one exe-file, which can be placed in any folder.
MyVGA is an open source project released under the GNU Public License (GPL) and is released free to the community. All public releases, source code, and program support can be found at MyVGA Official Support.

o 480x640 - Portrait, normal or upside
o 640x480 - Landscape, left- or right-handed;
• Change Fonts used for menus, and set the sizes of scrollbars. Settings are stored independently for each video mode;
