PI 5.01 Released - WebIS Mail 2.0 Beta 6 is uploaded

It seems like just yesterday Pocket Informant 5.0 was released - actually it was only 10 days ago! Today, Web Information Solutions announced a .01 release to fix some of the larger bugs discovered after 5 went live. According to Alex Kac of WebIS "As per our tradition of releasing a .01 release soon after a major release to quickly take in feedback and fix the most glaring bugs found by our cutting edge users - we have released 5.01 today. You can see that we now have a fully translated German Reference guide, Tap and Hold for Task Templates, some other new things, plus a couple big bug fixes, and a lot of things from feedback and comments from our users."
At the same time they have released a beta of their Full Featured Email Application WebIS Mail that can be downloaded here. It's not at the release candidate stage, however it is reportedly within a few weeks of being finalized. "Some of the big features is full support for proxies, SSL, advanced IMAP features, the ability to save mail on storage cards, and a lot more," Kac said this evening. "Betas 1-5 were all about getting Mail _STABLE_ which the internal Beta 5 did. Beta 6 now fixes most of the big bugs in the actual feature set."

It seems faster and the new buttons, etc are nice. I'm still trying to get my bearings, how about you?

I love PI ... great application, and I am waiting for two major upgrades, one to mail so it integrates with PI offering a true offline outlook experience and the other is a major upgrade to journal sync... image what you could do with a great journal, and then get the journal to also work with Achieve-It!

I'm a registered user of Journal Sync and after two years of working on the digital journals/Outlook journals, I switched back to Paper based. I just found that one, I wasn't looking at the journal as much as I had my paper based journals and two the journal was either becoming filled with "junk" entries that took a long time to weed out, or I was just not moved to add as much info as I was through paper.

Many companies have tried and failed at the journal syncing application. WebIS has the best one, but even they say it's got is quirks, issues and failed installs. Journal syncing is the bane of the PPC developer community
