Here is an free alternative to using the Microsoft Plus Digital Media Edition's "Plus Sync N Go". The Playlist Sync extension for Pocket PC 2003 will copy MP3 and playlist files to your Pocket PC at scheduled points in time - always keeping your PDA updated with new music.
Playlist Sync will activate while your PDA is in the cradle and copy MP3 files from your Desktop PC to the device. You can configure when it should copy files and how much data should be transferred.
Because copying large amounts of data to the PDA through your ActiveSync connection could take a considerable time, you may wish to adjust the settings so files are only copied during your lunch-break hours or while you're asleep.
Though not required, it doesn't really make sense to copy large amounts of MP3 files to your PDA main memory, a memory expansion card should be used.
If your MP3 files are spread over several directories on your Desktop PC, you just need to point Playlist Sync to the folder, where your Winamp playlists are located. Playlist Sync has support for the following playlist sources:
m3u - Winamp 2
b4s - Winamp 3
asx - Windows Media Player
pls - Shoutcast / Icecast
Once new files have been copied to the PDA, a "Windows Media Player for Pocket PC" playlist is generated and activated on the PDA. This means that all you need to do to listen to the new music, is to open the Windows Media Player and hit the "Playlist" menu-button, then select the "Rotating Playlist" item from the menu in the top. From now on your music list will always be up to date.

Bk,
Is there a link to download this now?
I was just thinking this morning, that I NEED to get the MS plus Digital Media Edition so I could scramble my songs like you do....this software would be the BOMB if I could download it and use it now!
Thanks BK, I just installed it...So do you think this does exactly the same thing as MS Plus DM edition? Or do you still think the MS version is better?
It looks like it does the same thing as Plus Sync N Go. The MS DM has about 6 other programs that come with it...(Like PhotoStory).... Let us know if you like it...

Ok,
Here's my experience with it so far. It installed fairly easily. Configuration was a bit of a challenge though.
The "Never copy more than 10 files" option seemed to result in no more than 6 mp3s copied.
So I just Set a limit to the size of my storage card minus used space. At first, it tried copying one file too many onto the card, but bumping that value down by 5 resulted in just the right amount of mp3s copied.
One thing about it that drives me crazy is that once syncing is complete, the activesync icon keeps spinning and stopping, spinning and stopping :?
But it does work! Each time is a different playlist with different songs automatically added. I am just not sure if I'll be able to take the activesync icon spinning non-stop.

I know what you mean....The spinning icon drives me bonkers (I'm not using this application but it happens with Microsoft Money sometimes). Did you check their site to see if there is a forum or something to fix that?
