One of my most used apps that I forgot to list yesterday was PIEPlus 1.1. Now I find out they have an update to 1.2 Whooo hoooo!! It is a Pocket Browser enhancement that among other things, reformats web pages so they look good on the small PPC Screen. I can surf all day without having to scrool left or right to read non-mobile sites. Major Changes from the previous version
* Hardware button mapping. You can map 2 functions to 1 hardware button for press and press-and-hold.
* On WM 2003, Navigate link with directional pad. You can navigate link with D-Pad and move to the link with action button.
* On PPC 2000/2002, Scroll by line or page with the D-Pad.
* Scroll by line or page with Jog Dial. D-Pad can be used for navigating link while Jog Dial is used for scrolling a page. Download
Download PIEPlus V1.2 at ReenSoft http://www.reensoft.com/download/PIEPlusSetupV1_2.exe
Is there any idea what it's like displaying pictures (within web pages)?
How about the ability to save images/pages?
As I tend to lookup maps, and it's handy being able to save the map as an image to view later off line.
Jeez! dude you really are earning your keep tonight....? there's no rush, I woz just wandering while I wondered.
But I appreciate the effort all the same.
How does this version handle html that's not targeted to PPC? I mean, does it display the same way as PC IE?... I'll have to download and give it a try I guess... heh

Ok, here's the scoop on the pictures. It does shrink them so they fit on the screen. Which means banner ads don't show up very well, our mobile pictures show up well, and so do pictures from CNN, etc.
I don't believe you can save pictures in this version - nor can I see a way to save a page (in html or otherwise). You can only select all text and copy it.
Hope this helps.
