I'm looking for something to keep me updated on my horoscopes, but I'd also love to get an application for tracking my stocks. Any one got ideas on how to help out handropov and I?
Leonid, I just replied to your other thread, you must really like your horoscopes... you both should try Pocket Express. Best of all its free. My girlfriend uses it all the time and once in a while I use it for stocks and news. You can download it here AT&T MEdia Mall
Depends on what you are looking for. I think Pocket Express is pretty darn good for a free, diversified portal-like application. It has worked out really well on my smartphone running on att network. It remembers my selected securities and I can get a pretty good sense right away whether I am up or down. On the other hand, it doesn't link with my web-based service and it doesn't track my total portfolio value. I'm not sure I'd want all that info on my handset anyway.
Thanks for the advice, I started using it yesterday and it's great! It works well on my AT&T 8125.
They have a free financial column on there by Scott Burns which is really good.
I was impressed by the level of detail they offer for each of my stocks, lots of details including the 52 day trading range.
Also the news service is great, and you get this great blog called "Reds Blog" it's pretty funny, and good to read on any downtime I have in between meetings, or waiting for something.
I enjoyed pocket express so much that here is the link to download it:
Wmfan: It looks like the Acquasys Pocket Investor is only a 30 day free trial.
Looks like Pocket Express for AT&T is free and I have been using it for a few days. It was able to keep up with my portfolio and it kept updating them pretty regularly during the trading hours. So far pretty impressed!!
I just found another really great feature on Pocket Express (well two actually )
1) You can book tickets to movies right through your phone. So it knows where you are right now, it tells you what movies are playing nearby and at what theaters. You can then enter your credit card details once and book the ticket!
Best of all it remembers your details so you only have to enter once. Then buying movie tickets is a breeze.
2) It's got a currency converter (HANDY). Maybe doesn't sound so cool, but for someone who travels overseas a lot. This is indispensable.
I dig the Pocket Express Sports. Turns out the Devil Rays are beating the Red Sox 5-2 (yes!). They are hitting the knuckleball of Tim Wakefield effectively, which bodes well come playoff time. But I digress. There is a lot of good information. it would be even cooler if it integrated nicely with my fantasy league (maybe this is a paid feature?)
