I use an xda stellar mobile 6 device with blackberry enabled. I need to setup an emergency contact that, when calling me, will play a certain ringtone at any time - overriding any sound & notification profile setting such as silent or vibrate.
I have the instructions for a blackberry device (attached to the end of this message), but I cannot find a way to do this on my phone.
Does any one know if i can do this on my device or do I need to install a tool/software?
Thanks,
Holly76
Making emergency contact a Priority Message
1. Click on Profiles on your BlackBerry,
2. Scrolling down to the Advanced Menu and click.
3. This will show you all the profiles on your Blackberry. Click the Menu Key and scroll up to New Profile, type in the name of the new profile (i.e. ER).
4. Scroll down and change the Messages, Level 1 Messages, MMS, Phone and SMS notifications for this new profile to the custom ringtone (Siren Loop). Do not forget to change the options to Tone in and out of the holster. Don't worry about changing things like Calendar, Messenger Alerts and Tasks do not matter for individual users.
5. Click menu key or escape key and click Save, this will save customized profile settings.
6. Once all of your ringtone settings are set for the new custom profile click menu key or escape key and click Save, this will save customized profile settings. Now you will be back to your Profiles list and will see your custom profile listed there with the standard ones.
7. Scroll down and highlight it. Click your Menu key and select Edit. Now wheel click or trackball click and select New Exception.
8. Title the exception whatever you like (it would be advisable to name it ER again).
9. In the From line, click the trackwheel or trackball and select the users you entered earlier from your address book. They should now show in your From line.
10. Scroll down and change the Use Profile option from Active Profile to your newly created custom group (ER ).
11. You may remove the check box from "Custom Phone Tune" if you already have a custom phone tune for this contact, or leave it and set it in the Custom Phone Tune to Siren Loop as well.
12. Click the menu key and Save the changes.
