I have a ppc that does not have built in gps. In the not too distant future, i will be getting a bluetooth gps receiver, or cf or SD..which ever one is better. But for the time being, i would really like to have some offline maps that i can use in tight situations without waisting too much time.
Would i be able to use tomtom software without the gps receiver for now?
Also, is there any other offline map software (store maps on sd card) that i can use until i get a gps receiver? One that isnt too time consuming for me to manually locate my position.
And lastly, with the ipaq 210, which is the smarter choice? SD gps receiver, CF gps receiver, or Bluetooth gps receiver?
Note, i usually use the SD for storing data (but i have both cards for data storage already)
Thanks in advance
EDIT: for my original question, i believe i answered it myself by trying it, i got to a screen where i am forced to choose which type of gps receiver i have, then it tries to connect to it and is unsuccessful because i dont have one.
Sooo, i guess, my only chance for mapping program is if someone replies and helps me out because i cannot find anything.
EDIT again: after further testing, and not giving up, i have managed to figure out how to browse the map for now without gps, but i feel it is very useless without gps, and will be picking up a receiver in the near future.
If anyone would like to know how and what i did, just reply here, and i will help out
