Long Story short - I was having lots of problems with my T-Mobile MDA Vario II (HTC TyTn) and had sent it back for repair 4 times. Each time they just replaced it with a new handset.
The latest one has WM6 on it rather than 5 which was on the previous ones. All well and good but I have 2 questions I hope you guys can help with...
1. How do I hide/change/customise the program bar at the bottom of the screen? The hi-lighted ones in the screenshot.
2. Am I missing something or has MSN Messenger (or Live Messenger been removed from WM6?
2. It should still be there. I think your carrier removed it. There are versions of it floating around that you can download and install to your device.

#1 is known as the tray. The best way to get rid of it is to stop the applications that are identified there from running. Generally if an app likes to have an icon in the tray, the tray will be there. You can get third party programs like iLauncher that let you customize the tray and I imagine there is some freeware program that may help hide it.
1. Schmenge, how do I stop them from running? The programs down on the tray aren't listed in the 'running programs' area
Close your eyes and tap your heels together three times and say........ wait, that's another story I would try two things. First try tapping on the icons to launch the application in the tray. Then look for any options it may have like not running on startup or not minimizing to the tray. After that open and Explorer window and go to Windows\Startup. You will see a bunch of entries in here. You can *probably* delete the ones you do not need. I say probably since I do not know what is launching and it may be a needed app. I would suggest that if you do not know what a given shortcut is for, Google it and see what it is before taking any action. Even then you may want to move the shortcut rather than delete it in case you decide you do need/want it.
