Hey, what's up. I wanted to get started with themes and games and such on my phone, so I decided to install Activesync and get going. Unfortunately it's not working. I have Activesync 4.5 on my PC and it's running on my phone (HTC 8925 by the way). Activesync seems to detect the phone, but an error message keeps coming, telling me that I should try trouble shooting. I've tried 4 USB ports, did searches all over the place, and couldn't find anything. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
Alright. It's gonna be hard to troubleshoot like this. But let's see what we can do.
On your PC desktop, right click on the ActiveSync icon in the taskbar and choose Connection settings. Tell me which options have a tick in the box and which one's do not.

By checked off, do you mean they are checked of the checks are off for these?
Annyways, I want you to check these options:
- Show status icon in the status bar
- Allow USB connections
- Open ActiveSync when my device connects
- Allow wireless connection on device when connected to desktop.
Once checked, do a soft reset on your Pocket PC and a Restart on your PC. Then try to re-connect the device and see if it syncs. Do not reconnect before doing the restart/soft reset.

Ok, all 4 of those boxes are checked off. I soft reseted the phone, then reseted the PC after reinstalling ActiveSync 4.5. I thought it was working for a minute, but then I got a message saying the software couldn't detect my phone because 1.) the USB port is broken (which it can't be because it still charges) or 2.) It's not a PDA or smartphone (even though it is...). I unplugged it and tried again, then I kept getting the standard message.
