For several weeks I have been trying to find out what criteria to use when deciding software X is compatible with device Y.
So I'm thinking the following, but please correct me or place comments:
if PPC-software is said to be compatible with Windows Mobile x.x, then it is compatible with all PPC's with that same version of WM. This rule only applies if this piece of software isn't targeted at a specific piece of hardware. For example, my overclocking software works with WM5, and will run on any other device with WM5. The only reason it won't be able to work is because that other device doesn't have the same processor.
So when I find a regular utility or game for WM5, it will work on all PPC's with WM5, as long as it doesn't need to use a specific set of hardware conditions.
PS: I'm sorry for my crappy English. I'm Dutch, but doing my best.
That sounds just about right. If you a software says its compatible for a certain version of Windows, you can use it for that version of Windows. If it's device specific, then you have to be extra careful.
