Recieving text messages(Inbox) - help

I'm new to the forums because i just got my HTC Shadow the other day. Now I've been noticing and it's been really annoying that when i receive text messages from SOME people in my contacts it just decides to only show there number instead of there name, and sometimes it does show there name. Thanks

I assume you're using a 7 digits phone number. If yes, you will need to modify a registry key so that it displays the caller's ID properly. You can download a free registry editor here. Go to Hkey_Current _User\ControlPanel\Phone\CallIDMatch and change it's value to 7 and reboot your phone. If the CallIdMatch key does not exist, use the registry editor to create a new Dword key and call it CallIDMatch and set the value to 7.

If you do not feel comfortable with modifying the registry, which by the way can cause damage to the device, just send me an email and I'll send you an application that will create the key for you.
