I have a user that set up his new HTC TyTN II on his XP machine and ActiveSync will not sync his 40 contacts or calendar items. He is syncing it to his machine that is on an exchange server, however he does not want to sync his email. I deleted the device in AS and re-added it and only selected the contacts and calendar to sync. It recognizes that there are 40 contacts there, but does not download them. Any new contacts he adds after he sets up AS will sync, but nothing from before we set it up. Any ideas? He also noticed that when he creates a new appointment in Outlook calendar it will sync (again only new items after set-up) but if someone sends him a meeting request and he accepts it, it will not sync.
I will also note that we are not syncing directly to the exchange server (that first option when setting up the device with AS). I have a Treo running WM6 and AS 4.5 only syncing contacts and it works fine. Thanks for any input.
why not just sync directly to the exchange server. or just sync to download the contacts then delete the emails. idk i dont have an exchange sever. try different things until something works. possibly using outlook by itself and not an exchange server might solve this.
