A common issue with Windows Mobile is having duplicate notifications, or corrupt notifications, in the notifications queue (this is where Windows stores all of it's reminders for things like waking up your device). There is a freeware program for cleaning the queue of duplicates if you are running WM2003. For later versions try MemMaid. They have a free trial and you can see if that resolves your problem

interesting didnt know the device would wake up if shut down. I noticed my palm 650 did that but never relized that the ppc would. I will have to try it out. I never noticed as I never shut off my device.

Also side note no need to double post a question.

I guess I should have also clarified what he meant by "shutting down." I assumed that meant hitting the power button in which case the phone is actually still on. If you really turn it off by holding the power button down, I don't think you can wake the device.

thank you guys for the very informative info and suggestions , i will heed your advice and try to test it .

To clarify more i meant really shut down as in you power off the unit .

sorry for my ignorance because ,am accustomed to using nokia handphones and just recently switched to this type of pda and really don't know if they function like ordinary handphones.

thanks for the great advice and info.
