To make a connection between your device and your PC, you will need to download ActiveSync (for Windows XP or earlier) or Windows Mobile Device Center (for Windows Vista). Both are free downloads from the Microosoft web site. And as pointed out above, you will need standard Outlook on your desktop to sync PIM info. However, there are third-party apps available (like Pocket Mirror or Intellisync) that expand the sync options a bit and let you sync with other desktop PIM software. But before anything else, you will need to install AS or WMDC on your desktop PC host.
