I do not recall HP releasing an OS update to WM5 for your model and they would be the source for the required ROM image to reflash your device. Unlike desktop Windows, Microsoft does not release WM versions directly to end users but only to device makers where each OS ROM is tailored to carry the hardware drivers for each respective model or line they design. You can check the HP web site but I doubt you will find an update for the 3900 to get it up to WM5 while WM6 is definitely not an option for you since HP has not released any updates from WM5 to WM6 that I have seen announced. Because ROM images are built specifically for each model line and its particular hardware, you should not try to force a reflash of your device with another model's ROM. What OS version do you currently have installed on your devcice?

You can check a site like the xda-developers site in case someone has cooked up a ROM update for your particular device, but the 3900 is quite old (if it is the original Compaq model) and probably would have difficulty trying to run the newer OS versions. Be careful when trying a cooked ROM and make sure it specifically states it is compatible with your model since these have not been verified in any way by the device maker.

When you yell like that, you are not apt to attract responses. Please keep it kind.

Can you give any idea of what types of games you are looking to find? Narrowing the field will help folks give you some guidance. You can also get an idea of what is available by visiting a site like PocketGear to see what they have in their games section. For example, I have found the SimCity port to WM to be a good equivalent of SimCity 2000 on the desktop. There is also a fairly good port of Myst to WM but ir requires a good-sized memory card. You will find some ports of RPG games to WM available as well. Just make sure that any you wish to try are compatible with your OS version before installing them.

You can also check the game categories on freewarepocketpc.net to see if there is anything there that fills the bill for you.

Yes please take yankeejeeps advice we are all here to help and some of us have serious issues we try to answer first and upgrading and games are not real big at this forum. This site is for more buisness related and object orientated people, not to say that we dont all like game and upgrading its just not are priority. We are here to help but your device and Im not aware of any hp device that has ever recieved any sort of update. You need to get a htc or a device that most people use if your interested in updates. Ok as far as games or fps I would suggest quake but I would suggest getting a newer device. Ill sell you one and I will even buy your old device. Well check out this site a member here maintains it and might actually own it.
