After a slight program installing rampage about a week ago, I realised that I couldn't get sound anymore. I'm using WM5, and every time I click the sound icon up the top and put the sound up, it'll go back down to 0 as soon as I click elsewhere then click on it again.
In the Audio options in Settings, The volume slider is at about halfway, and if i move it, it goes back to its previous position if i exit/re-enter.
Finally exasperated, I dl'd PHM Registry Editor. Without having a 5 year old in a brothel's idea of what I was doing, I clicked around a bit, and eventually got into a file as follows: My Device > HKEY_CURRENT_USER > ControlPanel> Volume, and in there, there's files Key, Mute, Ringer, Screen and Volume. Volume is set to 0. If i change it (i tried 1 and 10) then use the sound icon on the title bar to change the volume again, it still went back to 0 and the volume thing in the RegEditor went back to 0.
Does anybody have any idea of what's going on, what I could do, and if this is in the right forum?
