1. Why is that touch screen phones are not a desired device over the Nokias for majority
2. If touch screen is a LIMITATION, then why iPhone scores and people believe that iPhone is a better touch screen phone than Pocket PCs
One told me two reasons why Nokias score high than Pocket PCs
- cost
- no tactile feedback from touch screen
Agreed! But then why iPhone? It also has the same limitation!
One could then argue that the interface is much better than a Pocket PC. Agreed! It looks nice, and works nice. So its obvious that people are ready to pay more for better looks and feel. So cost is not a problem. Then is it only look and feel? Another one said "no". Cost also.
I'm confused!
But most people said that they "wish" to have a Pocket PC and the dont have $400 to spend. If we get it at $200, it can turn Nokia to the history box for sure!
A verteran in the mobile telecommunications industry, I am forever asking myself this very question... I mean, even the cheapest Pocket PC is far superior in almost every way to the most expensive Nokia!
The iPhone, as out-dated as it is, is understandable, the iPhone will sell on name alone, but why people continue to choose a poorer handset over a more advanced one, well that I don't understand... Of course, we as consumers have a long history of choosing inferior technology over more advanced technology (take Betamax video cassettes for example).
Anyway, whilst there are many reasons for the current situation (price, product size, make, etc...), it is predicted by most industry analysts that by around 2010 Windows Mobile will be the dominant smartphone operating system, beating even the likes of Nokia's Symbian OS operating system (not that this is a surprising result)...
