Hi
I am having Hyundai A200 ppc. I am not able to set my preferable ring tones, whenever I choose and click to 'ok' buttons it automatically set windows defaulty ringtone. What should I do?
Speaking of ringtones; I have a similar issue, but it involves notifications and alerts; I have an 8525 w/wm5. I'm trying to find a way to apply MP3 tones for my alarm and notifications. I've tried opening file explorer and copying MP3 ringtones and pasting them in "my device/windows" folder. Is there such an alternative or do I need a 3rd party software. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks
I installed from microsoft.com ringtone set. its format is .wma. its was cab file so it goes in its default folder i don't know where to see, but i can see in phone >sound >ringtone. Only one more ringtone I can set that is 'ringer' other then windows default.
Hey, I'm quite new pda user. I have an I-mate jam and it can't use mp3 files as ring tone. But yesterday I've found a patch for that and now I can use mp3 files as ringtone. I'll try to find and link it here.
I installed it, it installed successfully. But I can not see this programme anywhere. I tried to set ringtone in phone settings ringtone but the problem is same. I can see "SetAsRingTone ." folder in MyDevice>Windows>AppMgr>SetAsRingTone . {having these files STPD057 (47.0 K) & 1080 (1.88 K)}. I can see this prgrame in Add/Remove programe in Device & also in Add/Remove programe WMDC

Hello,
I have the very same problem with Notifications with my Cingular 8125. I have read most (if not all) of the recommendations in this forum about the subject and taken action accordingly.
I have tried all kinds of new ringontes (MP3, WAV, WMA) and put them in the following folders:
- Application Data\Sounds folder - Windows\Rings
File size should not be an issue, they are less than 27 KB.
I DO see the new tones in the phone ring dropdown menu and they work well there. However, I CAN’T see them in the dropdown menu for Settings à Sounds & Notifications à Messaging: New text message. All I see is those lousy brief default beeps.
This is driving me crazy, I need the phone to play something LOUD and LONG with incoming messages, otherwise I loose contact with the outside world.

I have the same problem too, I don't know why, I even cannot select those ringtone files that come with Windows Mobile.
When I select a ringtone files, it change back to Windows default automatically.
I haven't found a way to incorporate MP3 sounds as notifications, but I did find a way to actually use sounds that you record from your phone and incorporate them as a notification of alarm sound. Rule of thumb the recorded sound cannot be longer than 3-4 seconds. You can experiment with your phones and check to see what appears on your slide down option screen for your notifications and tweek it from there. Oh the files should be placed in /Windows folders. Hope this helps some of you who are looking to change the notification.
Yes you can set wav. files as notifications and alarms. Just convert your mp3 to wav. and stick it in the windows folder. Thats it, you will see that you are able to select them as notification sounds.
