I want to be able to play poker on my 8525 but it cant install exe files i dont think..is there a way to do this...
I have seen on youtube someone did a remote access to their desktop but they were right next to it probly using bluetooth and i will be traveling and just want to be able to run my poker.com program.
If it is a DOS program, you can find WM ports of DOSbox that let you run many old DOS apps in a fairly robust DOS emulation. There is nothing out there to emulate a desktop Windows session on a WM device, so running Windows apps on a WM device is not possible. Have you checked sites like pocketpcfreewares.com and freewarepocketpc.net for similar games that will run on WM? Or have you checked for VPN apps that would allow you to run your Windows app on a remote host desktop with the display sent to your device and the desktop controlled remotely from your device?
i know there are poker games out there at freewareppc.com and such, but thats not what im looking for. im looking to play on my poker.com account for real money, but like you said it isnt possible to run a windows desktop app, so i guess ill just give up on this dream.
what are VPN apps? I would like to try the remote desktop access eventually, but I really dont know how to do that.
VPN (virtual private network) is commonly used over an internet connection between the base desktop PC or server and a mobile device. Look for a VPN app for your host and a compatible app for your device. The best compatibility shot is to get both from the same developer. The PC acting as host needs to be on, connected to an internet session, and the VPN program launched and 'listening' for a recognized connector. The WM device makes the connection using its VPN client and can be authorized to run apps on the host PC, with the PC display also sent to a window on your device.
Do you need to run software or simply use a browser that has better scripting support than Mobile IE? If it is a browser problem when trying to access the poker.com site, try NetFront or Opera's mobile version, both of which are much more robust than PIE.
alright ill give the VPN thing a look tomorrow. and to answer the last part i need to run software, not just use a browswer, as i already use opera because its the best.
thanks for your help ill let you know how the vpn thing works out tomorrow.
