OK. I am very new to the PPC world. i just got a VX6700 from verizon.
I was told and was hoping to be able to play my movies and TV shows that I have on my computer on my PPC. I looked around the web and downloaded a couple programs that I thought might work. the first was real player. but after installing it. the app would not open and real player media. ( i am at a loss to why ) the second was SompyPlayer it installed. but will not open and AVI files that I have. The third was TCPMP it installed and opens only 1 of 6 AVI's that are on my PPC. and last was VLC mobile and it just does not want to work at all.
I really just want to watch some vids on my PPC and use it for email and such.
I know that I am new, I would really like any help that you might be able to give. thanks.
hmm, i use TCPMP and have never had an issue, i would say that you probably have a file that has a different version of the codec yet it is still listed as an AVI, like Xvid Vs Divx
coreplayer is what tcpmp changed its name to once it stopped being free. Just stick with tcpmp, it should do everything you need it to. I was in the same boat as you, and got videos working, but it wasn't until i found a new program that i actually was satisfied with my phone's media ability. That program is called Orb. It's a portal that you instal on your pc, and it streams your media over the internet to any pc or device. It automatically downscales the media to your screen size, so there's no skipping. It also automatically downscales according to your connection setting (which it can detect on its own). If you have wifi on your phone, it streams really really well.
i have an 8125 and my problem is dat i put my videos and movies on my storage card but wen i go play them on Media Player it plays slow and starts skipping...i need help on finding a better program that will play my videos and movies without skipping and that the quality is very gud. i dont like that orb thing only because u have to b on wifi

Yeah, if only minisd could hold 200 gigs Well, you can overclock your processor, which would help a bit. But i think the only solution is to encode your movies to be smaller. I hope i'm wrong and there's a better way; i have the same problem as you. That's why i got orb.
Jump online and get yourself a free copy of Microsoft's Windows Media Encoder - this free software will allow you to convert a wide range of multimedia formats into a format suitable for Windows Media Player Mobile (built-in to all Pocket PCs), and it already includes the profiles needed for standard-quality (portrait) and high-quality (landscape) videos at the time of installation!
I don't have the link handy, but if you Google it, you should find it no worries...
