Converting DVD's to PocketPC format

Hi there,
I actually hesitate to post this because of my DINOSAUR of a PPC, but it still works great and I can't justify buying a new one! Besides, I like how big the screen of my Audiovox PPC4100 is!

Anyways, I'm intersted in converting DVD's to a PPC format and moving them to my storage card so that I can watch them while traveling. Who can tell me the best way to do this?

Well, no one answered this thread (surprise, surprise) so I thought I would give the information I found to some poor soul who might need it.

After researching lots of DVD converting software, I found the best deal is DVD 2 Go. It is very easy to use, fairly fast (as far as they go), and I don't have to mess with finding codecs or anything else. It's half the price of other similar software and is found at handango and pocketgear (which is where I got mine for $14.95). Hope this helps someone in the future!

Thanks for the info...I was curious myself. One I tried didn't seem too easy once I toyed with it. And 14.95 sounds like a great price.

I know what you mean...I've downloaded several trial versions as well as freeware. It was hard for me to part with $32.00 for the software I almost bought, so I kept looking. I did several searches and found some good information about DVD-WMV (freeware), but I guess I'm not savvy enough to figure it out, because I couldn't get it to work. That's when I stumbled on this software. After spending several hours trying to figure it out the freeware, I decided spending $14.95 was a smokin' deal! I'm very happy to have software that's doing exactly what I hoped it would do! Yea! Good luck to you!

Well u sold me. I'll prob pick it up also. I don't spend that kinda time with my ppc that much but it's good to have for those long trips.
