I'm sure this question has been asked several times, but I can never think of a good set of search terms to look for without bringing up a load of irrelevant results. I'm trying to run a small program on my 8525, but it isn't made for a pocket PC. I'm wondering if there's some sort of emulation device that I can use in order to run normal Windows applications? I've got a little hope that it's possible, what with Linux's wine emulation and windows emulation on the mac. But it might be something a little too complex for a pocket PC to handle.
Short answer - there is no solution at this time to run desktop Windows software on Windows Mobile.
There are DOS emulators and emulators for several gaming systems that run acceptably, but no functional desktop Windows emulation as of yet. The processor and memory demands are simply too high, even for high-end models. As a conceptual exercise, I recall someone who did manage to load a tailored version of Win9x into a DOS emulator session, but it took an hour to load and could not really do anything once loaded.
What program do you need to run? Someone may be aware of a compatible WM app.
I was hoping to run either Ventrilo or Teamspeak, but I'm fairly certain there's no WM version for either. Looks like it's been considered though - I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed.

Hi there,
IIRC there is a program for the pocket pc called 'Tiny TeamTalk' and its kind of a teamspeak/ventrilo clone, you can host and connect to voice chats all from 1 app.
