I've had my 8125 for about 8 months now and this problem is reoccuring.
After I've loaded new apps/games onto my PPC, I use Pocket Mechanic and defrag my SD card, cleanup the registry, and a File System Cleanup. Somehow I must be deleting my profile or my rights to my PPC because the next time I go to sync, it tells me "Synchronization cannot be completed successfully. Reconnect and try again. If the problem persists, see the Microsoft ActiveSync Troubleshooter..."
But after running the troubleshooter, it tells me that the only issue I have is that my McAfee Personal Firewall has been detected. It's definately not my firewall though, I tried it on my other PC without the internet and ActiveSync gives me the same message. I know for sure it is not my Firewall.
I have the latest ActiveSync 4.5 and the 4.2 on my other PC. After looking through my files on PPC, I noticed that a lot of the folders in My Documents, Program Files, and my Storage card are either hidden or missing or I don't have the rights to see them. Basically it comes down to...I'm not allowed to sync, load any programs, or uninstall programs. I'm locked out of my own PPC.
My only solution to this problem is to fully reset my PPC to manufacturer's settings. I really want to avoid this because I have so much time spent on loading apps/hacks/games and other stuff into my PPC. If anyone has any clue as to why this is happening and/or a solution to my problem, please let me know. I'm pretty sure that I have changed the registry with Pocket Mechanic, and now I'm f*cked. I greatly appreciate any and all input/help. Thank you.
mcwilson I had a similar problem with my K-Jam on and off and found that if I uninstall and reinstall Activesync I could access the device again by setting up a new profile with the same name and therefore accessing the synced files again, unless I have my K-Jam connected and then plugin my ipaq in or vice versa. I am also running Pocket Mechanic on both devices and haven't had any dramas.

Hmm, I tried reinstalling activesync a few times, but I never actually uninstalled it. I'll have to try that next time since I decided to wipe everything a restart fresh. Thanks for the tip.
