I have a Samsung i730 Pocket PC phone from Verizon. I check one of my email addresses using IMAP4. I have the option "Keep copy of sent mail in sent folder" checked. But any emails that I send from my Pocket PC over IMAP4 don't get saved on my device or on the email server.
I have little experience with Imap, but I can tell that Outlook Mobile does not handle it well. I recommend that use Flexmail, which handles IMAP much better and will save your Sent Items.
