I have an IPAQ 4350 that I just bought used (due it's fantastic keyboard and wifi). I didn't get the HP software CD that normally comes in the box, a CD that contains a program that allows a PPC to print wirelessly to a networked printer. I tired going on the HP website but they are no longer providing the program directly (they suggest PrinterBoy, but for the little I intend to print, it's not worth the price tag). I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get the HP program or if someone could send it to me.
Thanks so much for the prompt reply. I've downloaded the file, not I'm just looking for a program to unzip the file. I'll get back to you if there are any problems.
Freecabs.de is a great resource if you're away from a host PC. The install files are all in .cab form and there is a section with apps to manage compressed files (for those .cab installers circulated as zip or rar archives) and installation locations (.cab files install to their default memory location when simply run on a WM device unless you run them using an install manager). Everything can be done from a WM device directly. A real lifesaver on the road.
Thanks for the info about printing. I ran into a little problem though; the HP printing software is printer specific (it only works with a limited number of printers). Is there another printing software (for free) that might enable me to print to my networked printer?
Unfortunately, all other options I am aware of are commercial, not freeware. I have had good results with WestTek's JetCET, but I also have their ClearVue Suite.
Talk about speed! Thanks for the help, chances are I'll probably just use LogMeIn to remotly print (worse case scenario). I have to say, Kodus to all the "Serious Addicts" for helping us lesser "Pre-Addicts."
While I'm here, and since you seem to have the answers to almost all my questions, I can't seem to be able to install Google maps on my PPC. Is it possible that it has to be unzipped before it is installed onto my PPC or is there something that I don't get about it?
