Hello, I just got my 8125 today. I connected to my wifi and got on the Mobile Internet Explorer. I tried going to a couple pages but got forwarded to the mobile versions of the websites (espn.com and tvg). I would like to be able to connect to the actual real website instead of the watered down mobile versions. Is there a way to do this? Thank you in advance and sorry if this question has been posted before.
I know that with google's site, if you get redirected to the mobile version, you can simply remove the /m from the url and it will go to the regular google site. This might be the same with other sites.
The browser identifies itself to sites when queried and some sites are set up to direct the browser to the page designed its display and functional capabilities. A common setting that most tweaking apps (like Tweaks2k2, for example) let you change is how PIE identifies itself. There is also TogglePIE, a freeware app that does only this tweak.
Just keep in mind that changing PIE so it identifies itself as IE 6 does not give the capabilities of IE 6. While the regular web page may load, there will probably be content on it that will not function because it is not supported by PIE.
