hi guys, i'm new to this site and hope i'm posting this in the right spot.... i just got a HP iPAQ H1910 PocketPC... and i see it runs the older 2002 version software... anyway to upgrade it to the newest?..if so how?... any guides greatly appreciated, thxs
You can check the HP site to see if an upgrade was ever made to take it to WM2003, but that would be as far as it went. If a WM2003 update was offered, you may still be able to find it on eBay since it would be too old for you to get it from HP any longer.
Microsoft does not provide upgrades directly to end users for the WM OS. They are prepared by each device maker and each maker decides which of their devices will get an upgrade. Your first stop is HP where you can find out if they ever prepared an updated ROM for your device. Then you can check eBay to see if anyone is offering a copy.
Unfortunately, no. Only HP would prepare an OS upgrade that would work with your device. Unlike desktop Windows, each Windows Mobile OS image is very device-specific since each ROM image only carries the hardware drivers required by the intended device model or model line. Trying to flash an incompatible ROM image onto your device could leave it non-functional.
