.prc files relate to the Palm operating system. There are Palm emulators out there for PPC however the power of the programs aren't fantastic from experience.
When I tried it a couple of months ago, because of the Palm users around me at work, I found nothing really impressed me, and with a bit of searching on the web I generally found a program that did most of what I was after, and usually as Freeware. None of their larger programs would run on the emulator I had due to the set up of the OS and the conflicts with WM.

These files are a Palm document format, but there WM reader apps that can work with them. Both MobiPocket Reader and eReader are choices that have both freeware and commercial versions (the paid versions have a more extensive feature set than the free versions). Both of these readers have WM versions.
As far as a Palm emulator is concerned, StyleTap is the only one I know about.
Sorry, but I can't do links for you since I'm posting this through my mobile browser. But you should be able to find the apps easily with any search engine.
Danail - Styletap was the one I ran also and is available though StyleTap Platform – Main page for $50 US. Other programs I am aware of included PocketPalm and also POSE (Palm Opersting System Emulator) which I haven't got links for, however I'm sure Google would answer the call.
I ran this for about 2 weeks on an iPaq running 2003. Don't know about WM5. Good Luck.
