Question Ringtone Trouble

I've figured out how to edit and add a ringtone. the problem is when I click on the file I get this message " There is no application associated with " The name of my file". Run the application first, then open the file from within the application". What does that mean and how do i fix it.

You are using the wrong file extension. It has to be .wma or .mp3. only then you will be able to play the files using Windows Media player on your pda.

I wish I could help you but I'm not a ringtone expert. I can only advise that you make sure the software can save files that are Windows Mobile compatible. What is thee software you're using?

This is what I did step by step.
1. added cd to windows media player
2. convert song to mp3
3. open with Audacity and edit song
4. save final product.
5. connect 8125 to pc
6. open activesync
7. click explore on activesync and locate edited ringtone
8. copy file and paste in windows/ring folder
9. locate new ringtone in windows/ring folder on device
Thats when i get the " there is no application associated with " the name of my file". run the application first, then open this file from within the application".

Where did I go wrong?
