i have a cingular 8525 and i was just wondering if there was a media player that played mp3s and any video files like avi mpg asx. if theres a lot which one do you guys like the best? if theres just a codec for windows media player thatd be fine as well...or maybe an itunes type player that plays all those files. ive looked but havent found anything yet. all i have found are skins or themes.
Core Codec's TCPMP is by far the best all around media player. Generally plays mp3, ogg, divx, avi, mpeg etc etc. Their website seems down, but thankfully there is a backup site.
i got it working, even tho it looks very basic and boring if it does the job thats fine. but how do i make it the default player? i open a music or video file and it still opens wmp..
does anyone know if there are codecs so i can play videos and mp3s on windows media player, cuz id really just rather do that...thanks
WMP is pretty worthless. Its a shame. Anyway in tcpmp's options theres a tab about file type, or maybe association. Check all and it'll be the default player for dern near every file you toss at it.
wmp may be worthless...or maybe im not syncing it right cuz it says that the phone is supposed to play mp3s...if tcpmp wasnt so ugly id take it right away but i like wmps themes that i can use like vista... i guess ill hafta go with tcpmp. does it do asx? streaming video?
ok so i've been looking all over for a thread on rm files. I couldn't find one so I figured this pertained in some weird way. is there a player that can play rm on the 8525 or do I have to convert?
ok so now about the real media player. does anyone else have it? if so have you noticed it doesn't seem to work very well in full screen...in fact it plain sucks.

You need to choose the version that matches your device. Smartphone is for smartphones only rather than devices running full WM or WM Phone Edition. SH3, MIPS, and ARM refer to processor types; select the version that your device has (an XScale processor is a member of the ARM family). The .cab files are install files you put on your device and execute there to carry out the installation. The .exe file is intended to be run on a host PC with installation to your device taking place over an ActiveSync connection; the hosted install file typically includes all the variations with your device telling the host PC which version it needs.
I just recently installed de TCPMP, encoded a avi file and transfered it to my PDA mini SD card and it worked perfectly! The thing is when I exit the TCPMP program...the screen freezes.
Hi there - sorry to hi-jack someone else's thread, but i didn't want to clutter up the boards with such a similar question.
I'm running windows mobile 6 on a v1615 (TYTN II) and would like to play mpeg-4 m4a audio files using the windows media player, without converting them.
can anyone tell me where to download a codec for this? please?
i don't really want to install a whole new player such as TCPMP unless i have to...
okay okay, so i got impatient and downloaded/installed TCPMP....
...and i got the same problem that some others reported when trying to play MPEG4 audio files.
Player: MPEG4 AAC Audio decoder not included!
anyone know where i could get such a thing? oh, and how i would install that correctly?
sorry for wasting your time.
many thanks!
Well if you have the wing you need the one for the arm processor.
