Temporary IR Remote

I need to use my PPC-6700 as an intermediate remote. Is there some free IR remote software that can learn & setup/record macros?

Practically speaking, I'm using a fancy Harmony 880 universal remote to control my gear. I love the remote, but it has some limitations... namely, it strives to be user-friendly and locks away the ability for you to create custom macros and assign them to buttons... HUGE flaw, IMO.

However, it can learn commands. So, my goal is to use my PPC to create an IR Macro, and then send it out to my Harmony 880 so it thinks it is a single raw command.

FWIW, I'm trying to create a way to raise/dim the lights when I pause/play a movie

Have you tried Noviiremote?

I'd love to say I've tried it myself but it doesn't work yet with the Cing 8525.

However, it is one of the more popular downloads and is available via the Downloads section of this site:
