Can't Totally Remove Programmes

When I try to remove some programmes (by Settings>System>Remove Progammes) I get the message "Not completely removed". Depending on the programme either:

The programme is removed from the list in available programmes but is still available in the programmes menu

Or:

The programme is removed but the icon remians in teh programmes menu.

Any idea how I can completely zap teh offending items?

Thanks

Paul

I have MemMaid and always do a cleaning sweep with it after any uninstall. It clears out any orphaned files, registry entries, or shortcuts. I hate to say it, but very few apps do a good uninstall, even the most well-behaved. I consider a good cleaning app to be a must-have addiction to any device.

My experience has been that an app uninstall that leaves shortcuts behind also usually leaves other trash as well. I highly recommend adding a cleaning app that can sniff this orphaned material out. It can have an impact on overall system performance.

Screw that, if something doesn't uninstall/remove the first time, choose "no" to removing it from programmes list, do a soft reset then remove it. Works every time AND removes any crap that came along with it. Having said that sometimes there's an empty Program Files folder left behind but that's just a case of "Delete"...

Monkey.
