Cingular 8125 wifi drops, reconnects, then drops

Has anyone experienced wifi drops?? Meaning, I activate my wifi connection to my wireless AP, it connects, then right in the middle of a task (say browsing the internet) I lose it and wants to connect via GRPS. So, I cancel that a few times, then my wifi reconnects... then a few more minutes pass then I lose wifi and GPRS wants to take over..

During these times when this happens, I am stationary in my chair just tapping away when I lose my connections..

Thanks in advance.

Yes, very good signal strength. Whether I am 10 feet away to 50 feet away, the same thing happens. Also, even though I have WEP 64bit encryption passcode recorded in one of the profiles on the PPC, it takes it a while to actually connect. The little double-arrow thing cycles quite a few times before the connection is actually made...?? and once its made, the whole "drop" thing happens again. I have the latest ROM update from HTC, I was hoping there would be another one to address this problem but I wanted to check with others....
