I recently got a 2gb SD card for my pocketpc, and I want to tranfer my existing installed programs from my main memory to the SD card, I remember noting a guide for that somewhere but I can't seem to find it again, any advice would be great.
Most apps also make registry entries in numerous keys, so you will need to edit all those to reference the new location in addition to updating the menu shortcuts. That is why the reinstall route is typically the least problematic; that will take care of the registry entries in the installation process.
I would just hard reset and start from scratch. It's time consuming but worth it.
Also, I would double check with the software developers to make sure the programs are safe to run on a memory card - some programs 'prefer' to stay in main memory.
Here's a link to a blog about an application that should do exactly what you want; but beware, it makes changes to the registry, so I'd backup your current configuration before trying this out...
