New convert from Palm Community

Hi Everyone,

I have been a Palm user from many years, last month, I gathered my courage and bought myself a O2 mini and started my adventure with Pocket PC.

During this month's used, there are 2 things that I can't resolved and while I spend much time reading through the forum, I just can't find a good solution.

Appreciate if anyone out here can give me a hand.

1.) Efficient address / contact searching.
Due to my work nature, I have around 1000+ contact entries on my O2 mini now. When I try to locate a contact, (e.g. Kelly, Tan), regardless of me keying in "Kelly" or "Tan" in the top search bar, O2 does not filter and contact or at least bring me to the portion of the contact list that started with either "Kelly" or "Tan". Can anyone tell me what is the setting I need to activate in O2 to get this feature?

2.) SMS
How can I get O2 to show the name of the person who send me a SMS instead of just the number? When I look at an SMS, to figure out who send me this SMS, I need to search through my contact list using the phone number. And Contact application does not have search using number, so I need to export all my address out into an excel and do a search. I am sure there is a better way to handle this, but I have not been able to find out.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

For question 1, have you tried reducing the number of contacts you have? try saving your contacts, then only using 100, and try searching within only 100 contacts. It may be that you have too many contacts..

Hi Shimazuc,

Thanks for the tip .

I have resolved my first issue (Efficient address / contact searching) by installing the software IneSoftAddressBook.

For the second issue, I tried the link, but all it does is asking me for a email id but never send me the actual software. When I search across the net, I get feedback that echo my experience.
I am starting to wonder if this site was created to harvest email id .

I am glad that I gave them a email ID that I don't really care (already heavily spammed ).

I am still in my continual lookout for the solution to my second issue .

Thanks

Hi Shimazuc,
Finally, I get a reply from Paragon (vendor who supply SMS Name), installed it on my O2 mini, but still not getting the desire result.
I will follow up with the vendor and report back on any findings.

Thanks
